The Data Recovery Process
You’ll speak with a data recovery specialist who will guide you through the recovery process, talk about your situation, and learn what data you need to recover. Then, they’ll recommend the best solution based on your unique situation. If Steve’s Computer Repair is right for you, our specialist will give you the lowest price possible and an estimated time to diagnose your failed device.
After the diagnosis, if we can recover your data at the lowest price offered, we’ll get started. If not, you’ll receive a detailed quote, and we’ll begin recovery once you approve. If you have more questions, visit our FAQ or contact us..
DATA RECOVERY EVALUATION
We’ll arrange an evaluation of your hard drive at our shop. This process usually takes 3 to 24 hours but may take longer depending on the condition of your device. Once we’ve diagnosed the problem and completed the evaluation, we’ll proceed with recovery if it can be done at the lowest price offered. If not, you’ll receive a call explaining the issue and a fixed price for recovering your hard drive, server, RAID, external hard drive, flash drive, or other storage device.
AFTER THE RECOVERY
Once the recovery is finished, you can come in and review your files before making the final payment. For out-of-town clients, we’ll send a file list for approval before payment is due. After payment is received, your data will be released to you, and we strongly recommend backing it up right away. In many cases, we’ll keep a copy of your data for two weeks to give you time to create your backup.
